How to create a room using these interior design tips
Are you overwhelmed with the thought of decorating your space? A living room, bedroom, let alone your entire home?
If you follow these guidelines, you will create a room that is comfortable, cohesive, functional and reflect your own personal style.
It doesn’t need to cost a fortune. I firmly believe that design constraints, whether budgetary or otherwise, often result in a more interesting project, and not the other way around.
With some clever imagination and a little extra legwork, you can save money and your end result will be a richer and more compelling reflection of your personal style.
Magazines and websites are full of home interior design inspiration.
Color schemes:
Use three colors or shades. – For a low-risk option, try adding a bright green lampshade, scatter cushion or picture frame and see if it brings the room to life.
Nail the floor plan
Think about the furniture placement and how the room flows with doorways etc. If you have a dining table against a wall how will people circulate. If you are creating an open floor plan its imperative you have a floor plan.
Add texture to your home
This can be a little overwhelming as it refers to virtually every surface in and furniture in the room. I’d start with textural elements that can be layered together. A rug can change the feel of a room it solidifies furniture layouts and adds a layer of depth and warmth. Play with cushions, throws and patterns, add greenery, natural fibres, wall hangings, art and install curtains.
Add big statement furniture pieces.
- Use trays, decorative bowls and baskets.
- Add flowers to every room.
- Inject Your Own Style And Individuality
